Rig AD-1 Certification
During construction of the rig, all aspects of building and construction works were monitored and certified by Shipping & Department of Energy, Lloyds Register. Throughout its working life, the rig has been very well maintained with an on-going preventive maintenance schedule. It had been upgraded and completely overhauled on three occasions: firstly in 1985, then in 1993 and again in 1996. It also had been completely stripped-down and fully refurbished at the Myanmar Shipyards in 2007.
In 2008, the Rig AD-1 was upgraded and commissioned with New Gensets, SCR and Mud Pumps at MOGE offshore supply base in Myanmar.
1st Time Re-Certification: Asia Drilling Pte Ltd. acquired the Rig in 2006 and was fully stripped and refurbished.
- Blasting (Copper Slag) & NDT by Shipyard Team
- Inspected by Lloyd’s surveyors
All drilling and ancillary equipment were stripped down and fully refurbished under the inspection of Lloyd’s surveyors. All parts were replaced according to API - Painting (HEMPEL Marine Paint)

2nd Time Re-Certification: Fully recertified by Lloyd’s at MS-1 well site, Thailand in 2009.
