Objectives

Asia Drilling is committed to continuously improving our Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) performance. In addition, we strive to embed a “Safety First" culture consistent with our fundamental goals, which include:

  • Zero Work-Related Incidents
  • Promote a Positive Environmental Stewardship Culture
  • Be in Compliance with all Applicable Environmental Conservation Laws and Regulations

Applicability

Asia Drilling and its associates’ proactively participate in attaining over all desired performance and commitments of our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). All employees, supervisors, managers, and executives regardless of the company hierarchy, partners, clients, contractors, and/or suppliers are accountable and collectively are responsible for overall performance across the enterprise value chain.

Breach of Asia Drilling’s Occupational Health & Safety Policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Contracted personnel who fail to comply with this policy may have their contract terminated, not renewed, or be subject to other appropriate actions. Asia Drilling reserves the right to amend or update this policy as required from time to time.

Commitment

The following objectives have been set to achieve in identifying the hazards, management of risk, and preventing accidents.

  • to identify potential hazards and design equipment, facilities, and procedures to eliminate accidents, to establish practices, procedures, and standards which create a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
  • to provide employees with training and information to enable them to fulfill their responsibilities and duties safely and efficiently.
  • to operate formal monitoring systems to measure the effectiveness of the arrangements for Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Arrange for recognized medical professionals to perform medical check-ups for employees or contracted workers as and when required.
  • to provide clients and contractors with the necessary information so that everyone can understand the policy and meet the standards of Asia Drilling in all areas.
  • to provide and maintain clear lines of communication.
  • Anyone involved in our business activities may intervene and stop operations (Stop Work Authority) in case they believe that there is an unsafe condition or unsafe action.
  • to comply with relevant legislation and best industry practices.
  • OHS performance depends on all employees, contractors, suppliers and client’s personnel working with Asia Drilling. Everyone is responsible for working safely.

Accountability

Asia Drilling’s Executive Management is accountable for the implementation of this OHS Policy. The implementation is achieved by adherence to our Safety Management Systems by all involved personnel and third-party contractors as well as reinforcement by our clients.

All levels of Asia Drilling employees have to cooperate and commit with the full support of Asia Drilling Executive Management to achieve the objectives of the policy.

Review, Monitoring, and Reporting

With the consultation and participation of employees or employees’ representatives, this policy shall be reviewed every two years to ensure that it is aligned with changes in the business and external environment including changes in the national context and legal requirements.

We focus on conducting business in an environmentally responsible manner and preventing any incidents that is likely to have an impact on the environment, company employees, and communities located near our operations. We aim to:

  • Be in Compliance with all Applicable Environmental Conservation Laws and Regulations

Asia Drilling expects active participation in achieving our environmental performance goals and commitments by all employees, managers, and executives regardless of the corporate hierarchy, clients, partners, contractors and/or suppliers who are individually and collectively responsible for performance across the business value chain.

Commitment

To achieve this objective, Asia Drilling will:

  • Implement environmental management plans to monitor and manage impact as a result of our operations.
  • Track and reduce emissions and consumption.
  • Promote access to environmentally responsible methods and information across the organization.
  • Protect the environment in the communities where we work and live.
  • Strive to prevent pollution and seek improvement with respect to reducing emissions, wastewater discharge, energy consumption, resource consumption, and impacts on the environment.
  • Monitor the effects of our activities on the environment and take action to address such effects where necessary.
  • Openly communicate our environmental performance with our workforce, government, and the host communities through a variety of engagement methods including but not limited to, coordination meetings, disclosure workshops, Operational Grievance Mechanism (OGM), and performance reviews.
  • Comply with both national legislation and industry best practices such as the UN Global Compact (UNGC) on the environment, in particular, the seventh, eighth, and ninth principles of the UNGC.
  • Conduct appropriate training to ensure all our employees, managers, and executives are competent in their respective jobs and understand and adhere to this policy.
  • Foster a culture that empowers and rewards everyone to act in accordance with this policy.

Accountability

Responsibilities for environmental performance are visible throughout the organization, with clarity for line management accountability. Asia Drilling Executive Management is accountable for the implementation of this policy. Implementation is achieved by adherence to our management systems by all personnel and third-party contractors as well as reinforcement by our clients.

Asia Drilling and its working groups are committed to embedding a culture of stewardship toward the environment, practicing industry best practices in environmental management, developing management plans to mitigate impacts, monitoring environmental aspects of our business activities, and taking corrective action where required to minimize adverse effects.
