Activities of Rig AD-2

Rig AD-2 moved to RSF-5 block, Magway Division in Myanmar to drill exploration well for Eni

The Rig was mobilized without incident and accident to Eni RSF-5 Block well site (SNH-1) from Thayet (MOGE-3, PTTEP project) as per the timeline.

The first well (SNH-1) was spudded on 17th January 2020 and made temporary plug & abandon on 5th May 2020 with AD-2. Currently, Rig AD-2 is being under maintenance with preventive maintenance schedule and waiting to complete SNH-1 well.

Rig AD-2 was mobilized to Myanmar to drill exploration wells for PTTEP Ltd. at MOGE-3 block

Rig AD-2 was mobilized from Thailand to Yangon (Myanmar) by COSMIC ACE vessel on 15th August 2018 for PTTEP (MOGE-3) project.

COSMIC ACE vessel arrived on 23rd August 201 to Yangon port. Rig packages had transfer from vessel to alongside on five landing crafts and departed from Yangon port to Thayet township, Magway division, central of Myanmar.

Rig AD-2 drilled for the first well AMY-1 for PTTEP on 11st December 2018. After the Rig AD-2 have drilled successfully four Exploration Wells for PTTEP (AMY-1, APH-1, ACT-1 and PSK-1) in year 2019, Rig AD-2 had been awarded a contract by Eni Myanmar BV.

Rig AD-2 moved to North East of Thailand from its last location in Central Myanmar (30 May 2013)

ASIA Drilling Rig AD-2 was contracted by APICO (Khorat) Limited to drill exploration well SPHE-A in Udon Thani Province in Thailand. APICO at its discretion may drill up to 5 additional wells. The wells are in L15/43 petroleum concession block in Thailand with drilling scheduled to commence in July 2013.

Rig AD-2 had been de-mobilized from Mann Oil Field in Central Myanmar with land transport and river craft along the Ayeyarwaddy River to Yangon Port from where it had been mobilized to Laem Chabang Port in Thailand arriving on 29 May 2013. The rig and its equipment are scheduled to arrive at well site in Thailand in June 2013. The first well, SPHE-1 for APICO well was drilled successfully with Rig AD-2.

APICO (Khorat) Limited contracted Rig AD-2 for next well DM#5, in Thailand and commenced on March 2015 and expected to complete on end of June 2015. The second well, DM-5 for APICO (Khorat) Limited was also drilled with Rig AD-2 in 2015.

From 2016 to 2018, The Rig AD-2 had maintained and inspected regularly for all Rig equipment and all material as per API standard and preventive maintenance schedules.

MPRL E&P Project with Rig AD-2 at Mann Oil Field, Central Myanmar

MPRL E&P Pte Ltd contracted with Rig AD-2 to drill one deep well and rig was mobilized to Mann Oil Field, Central Myanmar, on 1st August 2011. Mann Deep Exploration Well (MDE-1) was drilled with Rig AD-2 in year 2011.

Already installed equipment such as Drawworks, Top Drive & Roughneck by NOV and completed survey by Lloyd’s. Preparation & packing for shipment to Yangon is scheduled tentatively for 01 March 2011.
AD-2 Rig Package has completely arrived to Well Site Location in Mann Field
The Rig AD-2 left Shanghai Port and unloaded all its equipment at MITT port, Yangon on 17th April 2011. It than mobilized to Central Myanmar to its drilling location in Mann Field, near a small town called Minbu. The mobilization to well site was a hazardous one with the ADL team facing thunderous rain and slippery road conditions. In spite of all the hazards caused by the weather, the Rig AD-2 made it safely to its target location without any incidents. The rig is expected to spud-in tentatively on 12th July 2011.
Construction of Rig AD - 2
It has been five months since the purchase of AD-2 and construction of the rig is still in progress but is close to reaching completion. By the end of February 2011, Rig AD-2 will be tested and certified by third party inspector (Lloyd’s Register) and will be shipped to Yangon port. It will then be mobilized to Mann Oil Field (Myanmar) to drill two deep wells for MPRL E&P. The drilling campaign for MPRL E&P is expected to begin June 2011.
