The Rig AD-2 left Shanghai Port and unloaded all it's equipment at MITT port, Yangon on 17th April 2011. It than mobilized to Central Myanmar to its drilling location in Mann Field, near a small town called Minbu. The mobilization to well site was a hazardous one with the ADL team facing thunderous rain and slippery road conditions. In spite of all the hazards caused by the weather, the Rig AD-2 made it safely to its target location without any incidents. The rig is expected to spud-in tentatively on 12th July 2011.
It has been five months since the purchase of AD-2 and construction of the rig is still in progress but is close to reaching completion. By the end of February 2011, Rig AD-2 will be tested and certified by third party inspector ( Lloyd’s Register ) and will be shipped to Yangon port. It will then be mobilized to Mann Oil Field ( Myanmar ) to drill two deep wells for MPRL E&P. The drilling campaign for MPRL E&P is expected to begin June 2011.
